Drop_Box not Auto-Signalling

We're upgrading from v13.10 to v17.10. Our standard printer selection window has several DROP_BOXes on it. They are marked with "Signal on Exit" and "Automatic (Signal All Changes)". On v13.10, when a key is pressed to select an option, the on-Select Logic is triggered. Not so on v17.10. We have to actually exit the control. Has there been a change? Is there a setting I'm missing?

I remembered reading about Multiple Character Search being added to Drop_Boxes. The documentation says this came about with PxPlus 2019. Could this be having an adverse effect on the Automatic trigger?

One other thing I just noticed:
I've been tabbing into the drop_box and using a keystroke to make a selection. That's when it does NOT trigger the On Select logic. However, if I mouse-select an entry, the logic triggers.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
