Global Dictionary Bizzare Behavior

Has anyone ever seen this before.
I copied a field to the Global Data Dictionary.
The field was a part of an Alt Key in the Source File.
When I brought field into another File it AUTO CREATED a Key using that field only and caused me a lot of grief.

I'm starting to think that is always the way PxPlus may have worked and that in the past we never encountered it because we would first create the field and then add it other files (then create keys if and where needed).  I can't believe this is the first time I have ever been snapped by this. Oh well.
