Off Topic / Mentor wanted
« on: January 28, 2020, 03:02:56 PM »
I am a former Business Basic programmer, my last exposure to Providex being Version 10. More recently, I have been involved in mortgage banking and accounting. Recently, a friend asked me to modernize/rewrite a point-of-sale application written many years ago in Foxpro. I purchased PxPlus 2019 and found that the look-and-feel of Nomads development is quite different from what I remembered. I am looking to hire someone to guide me and answer questions. Please contact me at: bernperl3@gmail.com.

Thank you for your replies but I must be missing something very basic. I have used your suggestions and read the documentation but the grid remains as initially defined in the DISPLAY window. I am trying to define a simple spreadsheet with columns 'Quantity', 'Price' and 'Total', each with a width of 16. If I could ask for a few minutes of someone's time, please send me screenshots of the DISPLAY, FORMAT and PRESETS windows. I am using PxPlus 2019. If this cannot be done through the Forum, please send to my email: bernperl3@gmail.com.

Off Topic / Consultant in/near Chicago
« on: December 24, 2019, 03:25:17 PM »
I am a former Providex programmer, now semi-retired as an accountant. A good friend has recently asked me to modify an old point-of-sales application written in Foxpro, which seems ancient and cumbersome to work with. I thought of creating a new application in PxPlus but cannot guarantee the level of ongoing support they might need. I am looking to partner with a reseller/consultant who can make occasional on-site visits to Chicago. Please email me at bernperl3@gmail.com or call 773-680-4986.
