Language / ED+ Through WindX - Switching Tabs starts at top of program?

If using ED+  and have 2 programs loaded with tabs, is it normal that it always goes back to top of the program when switching tabs? 

*IT worked fine through windx,

PS.  I just tested a local windows PVXPLUS and it holds the position as expected... Is this an ED+ bug through windx?  Latest pvxplus 21 on Linux!

Nomads / Default Panel Background/fonts colour not being retained

With the newest pvxplus 21.00 I'm noticing certain panels when processed from within other panels do not retain the default background (library defaults) and return to white.  I can send you a test scenario, just want to know if this isn't already known.

Quick debugging shows ELEMENT$ was "iolist SETTING$"

Programming / defunct linux processes with pipes

Noticing defunct processes when using pipes since new pvxplus upgrade.  I found the 'WP' parameter helps.

So I set_param 'WP'=1 as my default.

Just I have one weird scenario.  with this TAC if I dont set 'WP'=0 the close will hang indefinitely.

So after a few experiments I got this to work:

! This opens the logfile

OPEN:
let PRODLOG=unt; open (PRODLOG,err=ERROR)"< tac /tmp/albertibuffer_ProdErr.csv 2>/dev/null"

READ_CYCLE:
! Do my READ (PRODLOG) loop, I only want a certain # only (so tac stays incomplete)

DONE:
set_param 'WP'=0 ! PVXPLUS setting to wait for pipe to end
if PRODLOG then close (PRODLOG); let PRODLOG=0
wait 1 ! This clears zombie
set_param 'WP'=1 ! PVXPLUS setting not to wait for pipe to end affected old <date routines but lets see if this causes issues
wait 1 ! This one ACTUALLY Clears Zombie


Do I really need this Apollo 13 ending sequence?

Maybe I should use a different routine to simplify it just I am used to using pipes like this with old PVX 5.14 with zero issues.

Just reading about SVN does this work with Linux pvxplus?  I get an error #99 but I dont have anything setup yet.

Seems to be a bug in the *tools/makeqrcode

works fine if you don't pass quality level (L,M,H) if you do I get a html dump response.

0020 call "*tools/makeqrcode","ABC123","/tmp/qrtest.png","H"

looks like server end may be an easy fix for you.

Thin Client/WindX / WindX Icon - Spawn

Why do spawned WindX session come up with the "Settings" Icon.  Is there a way to change the icon reference on spawned windx sessions?

I'm using *windx.utl;SPAWN  even if I pass the ini file with the same as the initial windx connection it doesnt seem to take it.  So my primary window has the correct icon but any spawned sessions have a 'settings' icon.

Programming / Replacing a folder? [Solved]

I have 5 folders, and the second folder say folder "B" I want a different panel to be there based on certain conditions on entering the main program.

I used to be able to easily set _F_OBJ$[2,0]="NEW_FOLDER.FD2"  (I want an entirely new Nomads panel there not just switch tabs)

However this is no longer possible.

I am trying to use FLDR'GetPanelNames$() and FLDR'SetPanelNames$() I am struggling to figure out when or how this works as it just isn't working for me.

$01$+"FLDR1"+$01$+"FLDR2"+$01  It just doesnt seem to save it.  I tried a FDLR.ReDraw() and it seemed to do something but not what I want.

If I find the answer I'll post.  Right now I am stuck.  Thanks

The 5 second rule is too harsh, can this be eased up maybe after 3 consecutive searches or something.

I find myself playing a game to do searches here.

Hi, Is there an actual updater that updates windx itself on a clients machine from an older windx?  or is it only custom files such as static/dynamic pictures that is used for this auto updater?

"AutoUpdater to automatically check for and install critical patches/upgrades on all client workstations"

I see nothing in the documentation how this works?  Thanks

Hi thanks for releasing pvxplus 2023.

No luck with Ubuntu 22 and openssl still I need to assign:

export PXP_SSL_LIB=/usr/local/lib/libssl.so.1.1
export PXP_CRYPTO_LIB=/usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.1.1

And I now am getting a new error:

Could not locate entry point 'OSSL_PROVIDER_load' in libcrypto library.
Likely an incompatible SSL Interface. (err/ret=2/2)


Do I need to install OpenSSL 3.1 for this to work?

Hey Everyone.  With the Ai craze going about.  I was wondering how this can tie into anything PVX Plus related. I haven't done anything personally other than play with Chat GPT but I was wondering how we can use some of these tools in future or what not.  Just curious!  Thanks for any thoughts.

Programming / Reading simple data from a TCP channel

Hello everyone, just a simple question.

I have an incoming TCP data stream I want to capture.  For example port 9004.

I've created a simple incoming server routine.  Not sure if I needed KEEPALIVE but

let TCP=unt; open (TCP,bsz=4096,err=ERR_PORT)"[tcp];9004;KEEPALIVE"
READ_NEXT:
read record (TCP,err=ERR_READ)A$
print "Got: ",A$
goto READ_NEXT


Similarly I ran a linux "nc capture command" capturing data from another port which has the same data being sent to it.


What I am noticing is occasionally the PVX program does something like this:

Almost like a terminator character is received on the port and it registers part of the data then it continues on the next read fine.  So I would have to concatenate the data.

The nc command however does not break apart any data.

I am just wondering if I need to change anything in this routine.  Thanks.

Hi, I'm going from obsolete to latest greatest :) 

root@art-orion:/lib# openssl version
OpenSSL 3.0.2 15 Mar 2022 (Library: OpenSSL 3.0.2 15 Mar 2022)

I linked :

/lib/libssl.so -> /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ibssl.so.3
/lib/libcrypto.so -> /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcrypto.so.3

I am getting this error opening a secure channel:

Error #99: Feature not supported

Could not locate entry point 'SSL_get_peer_certificate' in libssl library.

I see 3.0.2 is supported is that windows only?  Or do I just need to wait for pvxplus built for ubuntu 22?  Thank for your time.
